The Doors of Perception

Film

Francisco Esteves is an elevator technician whose routine life hides a quiet but enduring connection to art. As he moves through the mechanical motions of his job, he listens to music, paints, and reflects-drawing unexpected meaning from ordinary moments. The music of The Doors resonates throughout his world, not just as a soundtrack, but as a lens through which he understands life, time, and the self. Influenced by Jim Morrison's poetic voice and William Blake's vision of perception, Francisco finds in art a way to navigate existence.

The Doors of Perception is a contemplative and visually poetic portrait of a man who observes life with depth and sensitivity. Blending observational documentary with symbolic imagery, the film follows Francisco through the rhythms of his day-fixing elevators, painting in his room, revisiting old writings-and reveals how art subtly permeates his everyday experience.
